How to Make Pine Cone Spiders
At Bindle & Brass we love super simple crafts that we can do with the kiddos. These creepy-cute pine cone spiders are just the trick, and the added treat is their sweet fall scent of cinnamon! They are just the right amount of spooky for all the nooks, crannies, and shelves around your home!
TO MAKE THIS CRAFT YOU WILL NEED
paint (we used black acrylic paint, but you could also use spray paint)
paint brush
pipe cleaners
googly eyes
scissors
low-temperature hot glue gun
faux spider web
DIRECTIONS
First, paint the pine cones. We chose to make our spiders solid black, but feel free to go wild here or keep your pine cone au natural. Let paint dry.
Wrap 4 full-length pipe cleaners around the pine cone to make a total of 8 legs. Shape the pipe cleaners into spider legs, adjusting the length with scissors if necessary.
Next, attach the googly eyes with hot glue to the pine cone. (This is a great opportunity to discuss spider anatomy with little crafters.) Most spiders have 8 eyes, but some have 6.
And that’s a wrap! 🕸 Place these creepy-cute critters around the house or make a spooky spider scene on your patio with these oversized crawlers and some faux spider webbing. TERRIFIC!
